ProteoGenix names Thomas Grove, Ph.D., Vice President, Product Development
COSTA MESA, CA, September 28, 2007---ProteoGenix announced today that it has
named Thomas Grove as Vice President, Product Development.
Dr. Grove has spent 28 years in executive management positions in both in vitro
medical diagnostics and clinical laboratory services. Prior to joining
ProteoGenix, Dr. Grove was the President and CEO of Applied Microdiagnostics. He
has also served as the President and Chief Technology Officer of BioCentrex, a
medical diagnostics company that developed and obtained FDA clearance for a
cardiac biomarker system. Dr. Grove was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer
of Careside, a medical diagnostics company focused on products for Point-of-Care
Testing. At Careside, he led the development of a blood chemistry analyzer
system and obtained 510(k) clearances for the analyzer and 31 tests, along with
seven patents on the technology. Prior to Careside, other career accomplishments
to date include development of over 250 laboratory tests for SmithKline in the
fields of chemistry, toxicology, immunology, endocrinology and molecular
diagnostics and published over 75 papers and abstracts. Dr. Grove has received
several awards in recognition of his scientific contributions including AACC
Young Investigator Award in 1980. Dr. Grove earned a B.S. Degree in Biology from
the State University of New York at Albany, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from
Syracuse University, New York, was a resident in laboratory medicine at the
University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and was a NATO Fellow at Oxford
University.
