proteomic biomarkers associated with critical conditions of pregnancy at 2009
Annual Meeting of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine
January 25, 2009 :: San Diego, CA :: ProteoGenix presented seven abstracts
related to the company's research in identifying proteomic biomarkers associated
with critical conditions pregnancy at the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Society of
Maternal-Fetal Medicine, held in San Diego, CA, January 23 - 27. The ProteoGenix
abstracts focused on the companies research with key biological fluids related
to pregnancy such as umbilical cord blood, cervical-vaginal fluid and maternal
serum. ProteoGenix utilizes sophisticated and proprietary mass spectrometry
related technology and techniques to identify proteomic biomarkers that are
associated with critical pregnancy-related complications such as intraamniotic
infection, early onset neonatal sepsis in premature neonates, recurrent preterm
birth and preeclampsia. Of the seven abstracts presented by ProteoGenix, two
were work selected by The Society of Maternal- Fetal Medicine for oral
presentation by the authors and all have been published in a Supplement to the
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
ProteoGenix believes this research builds on the company's previous work to
create a scientific platform for the discovery, development and
commercialization of innovative, primarily noninvasive predictive and diagnostic
tests. These products can provide clinicians with improved capability to
diagnose and treat these critical conditions associated with pregnancy, many of
which have significant clinical and economic consequences.
ProteoGenix is a privately held company with facilities in California and Oregon
