test menu - AF Interleukin-6 Concentration

Amniotic fluid IL-6 (IL6) Concentration

Clinical Significance: The test is intended for detecting Interleukin -6 levels in amniotic fluid. A high amniotic fluid IL-6 level is a risk indicator for intraamniotic infection. The definitive diagnosis of intraamniotic infection requires amniocentesis and the demonstration of microorganisms within amniotic fluid by culture or 16S ribosomal DNA by PCR.
