Amniotic Fluid Glucose
| Clinical Significance: | The test is intended for detecting glucose levels in amniotic fluid. A low amniotic fluid glucose level is an indicator for predicting a positive amniotic fluid culture result or development of clinical infection. The definitive diagnosis of intraamniotic infection requires amniocentesis and the demonstration of microorganisms within amniotic fluid by appropriate culture or 16S ribosomal DNA by PCR. |

the following day. Specimens received after 12:00 PM on Friday will have results released by 12:00 PM the following Monday. Specimens shipped for arrival at the ProteoGenix Clinical Laboratory in Southern California between 5 PM Friday and 8 AM Monday, should be frozen prior to shipment and shipped via ProteoGenix frozen specimen shipping container. |
